Humanitarian Award Presented to Todd Mailly, MD

The 2018 Humanitarian Service Award is bestowed by the Society in recognition of the volunteer work and commitment of an orthopaedic surgeon devoted to the welfare of patients in underserved and needy populations in challenging situations.

This year’s honoree is Todd Mailly, MD. He was nominated for the many years of providing care to the needy patient population in Haiti. In recognizing his volunteer efforts, Dr. Robert Green applauded Dr. Mailly’s long term volunteer commitment to the care and treatment of the people of Haiti.

In addition to his trips to care for the people of Haiti, Dr. Mailly is an active volunteer for Health Volunteers Overseas and serves as a Board member for the Orthopaedics Overseas. Since 2015, he has joined others on a number of trips to China and Ghana.

Dr. Mailly is affiliated with the Delphi Orthopaedic Program and St. Francis Hospital in Hartford and supervises orthopaedic residents at St. Francis’ Orthopaedic Clinic. He received his medical degree from Ohio State University and completed his orthopaedic residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York and a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Total Joints at the Institute for Bone and Joint Disorders in Arizona.

The Society is proud and honored to have him as a leader who volunteers and dedicates his time, skill and compassion in caring for people throughout the world.
