2018 Annual Meeting Highlights

The Society hosted over 140 orthopaedic surgeons, Physician Assistants and Yale and UConn orthopaedic residents at the COS Annual Meeting held on May 11, 2018 in Farmington, CT.

Special thanks to Dr. Michael Kaplan, MD, Meeting Program Director, for his leadership, commitment and dedication to organizing a relevant and robust, CME accredited program for all members and guests.

The Society was honored to host guest speakers from throughout the Country. Attendees heard clinical updates and information from Dr. Michael Kelly (New Jersey); Brian Cole, MD (Rush University, Illinois); Dr. Douglas Dennis (Colorado); Andreas Gomoll, MD and Amar Ranawat, MD from Hospital for Special Surgery (New York); and Dr. Bradford Parsons, Residency Program Director at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine(New York). Resident Papers were presented by Dr. Ryu Yoshida (UConn) and Dr. Murillo Adrados (Yale) and attendees had the opportunity to meet with representatives from over 35 companies and organizations in the Exhibit area.

Immediately following the Annual Meeting, orthopaedic residents from both UConn and Yale attended a workshop to learn basic coding and contract negotiations. Special thanks to COS Member, R.J. Sullivan, MD for sharing his coding experience and to Attorney Barry Cepelewicz, MD from Garfunkel & Wild for providing a legal primer on contracting.
